Eco ChristmasWith the surge of catalogs and Christmas cards we all receive in December, be mindful to recycle. Be especially cognizant of your landfill contributions this month by recycling all magazines and catalogs, recycling envelopes from the Christmas cards, and ultimately recycling the cards after Christmas. If the card is especially beautiful, buy a great frame, put the card in it, and put it on a bookshelf, desk, or entry table. That’s recycling too, you know. Have a Green Christmas this year!

Champagne More Potent
The holidays are almost upon us and that means holiday parties. Holiday parties mean excess calories and more drinking than usual.
If Champagne is your chosen poison for the evening, first know this…Champagne has the same alcohol content as a glass of wine or basic cocktail, but the bubbles in Champagne cause it to get absorbed faster into your bloodstream, so you become intoxicated more quickly.
There’s nothing more embarrassing than being at the company Christmas party after having two glasses of Champagne, and realizing that you are suddenly sloshed! Remember, Champagne gets you there quicker, so adjust accordingly.

Sweetest Day IdeasSo you may not have a bed on the beach, but you can recreate a mood that’s almost as good. Go all out. Be dramatic. No matter what they say, people like when you have put together a production in their honor. Here are some ideas to spice up your Sweetest Day!
- Do have a picnic in bed
- Do have sexy mood music on hand
- Do have a bottle of champagne chilled
- Do have fresh flowers in the room
- Do wear something edgier than the little black dress
- Do wear sexy high heels
- Do have strawberries dipped in chocolate (takes minutes to make)
- Do something outside the realm of what you consider “normal”

July 3
4th of July Dessert
This is a super-simple dessert to throw together for your 4th of July party.
Find some pretty clear glasses or dessert dishes and layer strawberries, fat free Cool Whip, and blueberries.
This is a great dessert to have on hand in addition to the coconut cream and banana cream pies that are sure to be on the table and calling out your name.
This berry medley is completely fat free. So indulge. Have three of them if you want!

Valentines Day…Are You Ready?
December 23
Dazed and ConfusedHoping you are taking a bit of downtime now that the holidays are near (and you’re probably off work tomorrow.) Take some time to have fun with friends and family tonight, make some cheese fondue and pop a classic DVD in…like Dazed and Confused. Kevin Pickford (Shawn Andrews) should be enough to keep your attention for days! He’s kept my attention since 1993. Meow!

Goodbye SummerIt’s late September and summer is feeling like it’s over. I had such a great spring/summer growing season (see picture) with flowers, herbs, vegetables, peppers, etc. May is such a perfect time to find the greenest of greens in nature. But fall definitely has its perks, too…especially for colors. Fall definitely has its advantages in the style department…think hats, boots, beautiful soft sweaters and scarves. Yum!
Goodbye to summer.
