There’s no hiding Tony Bourdain’s dislike (or disgust) for Sandra Lee. The Semi-Homemade queen does not rank highly amongst chefs or even the foodies of the world. A particular episode of Sandra’s that made Tony’s eye twitch was the Kwanzaa cake episode. In fact, he was so sure we’d agree with his thoughts that he told us to go home and You Tube Sandra Lee’s Kwanzaa cake. Watch for yourself and come to your own conclusions.

Tony’s near sold-out F-bomb laiden show in Cincinnati had all of us in stitches all night. He received as many laughs as a comedian. Tony is an incredible story-teller and one who isn’t afraid to share his thoughts on Food Network personalities, i.e., he thinks Guy Fieri, at the age of 45, needs to take the glasses off the back of his head and thinks Giada has an abnormally large head.
The audience in Cincinnati was filled with some of our most prominent chefs, foodies, bloggers and all-around interesting people in Cincinnati. Tony opened the floor to questions, and it was amazing to see so many well-traveled Cincinnatians all in one place.
Tony is welcome to our city any day…even if he made fun of our cinnamon-laced chili. I have a feeling Cincinnatian’s would welcome him with open arms and another sold out venue.

Body By Bethenny
I just ordered the new Body By Bethenny yoga DVD on Amazon. I was all prepared to wait the standard week to receive it by mail, but fortunately, Amazon let me view it for free (after purchase) immediately…and then stores the video in my Video Library on Amazon’s site. They also give you the option to send it to TIVO or download it to your computer.
Kudos to Amazon for not making a girl wait 7-10 business days to start getting a better body. Cool feature!

For the first time in what seems to be an eternity, I have a sunburn. I never meant for it to happen, but it happened at the Cincinnati Reds Opening Day game I attended on Monday.
You never really realize how blistering hot the sun is until you are sitting under it for three hours…unable to move from your seat.
I now remember why I always avoid the sun, or at least use a sunblock. Not only did the sun burn my skin, but it also parched my skin. By Monday evening, I could feel my skin was very dry, and it looked aged by 10 years in just a few hours.
I’ve been using Supernatural Botanicals Grapefruit Body Lotion since Monday, and it’s literally healing my skin with each use. You can physically see your skin transforming from dry and parched, to soft and moisturized. In my opinion, and of course I’m a bit biased, it’s truly the best lotion on the market. It’s better than anything I’ve ever used on my skin. It truly feels like skin therapy, leaving your skin ultra-soft and smelling amazingly fresh.
Save your skin. Start here.

Eat Pray Love TrailerI was in the middle of writing a blog post about Eat Pray Love, by Elizabeth Gilbert, when my friend sent me this (see below.) Great timing. I’ll be posting more on this book (because it’s one of my favorite books of all time!) I’m so excited to see Julia Roberts as Liz in this movie.

Mad Men StyleIf you are part of the majority, you’ve fallen in love with AMC’s Mad Men. Mad Men is a show about an advertising agency in Manhattan on Madison Avenue, thus the moniker Mad (Madison Avenue) Men. The crazy vintage style makes you swoon! It was a time where women were extremely sheltered, yet they smoked cigarettes and drank scotch from rocks glasses all day long….while pregnant. Boozing and smoking are also commonplace in the work environment. The blatant sexual harassment and gross neglect to identify women as equals to men is surreal. It’s ironic to look at that era of time. It was a time when politically correct or dysfunctional never crossed their minds. The retro decor and fashions are delicious, with the main character, Don Draper, always in an impeccable suit. Joan Holloway is the resident sex-kitten with pin-up girl looks and curves. This is definitely one to Tivo!

Sam The Cooking GuySam Zien, aka Sam The Cooking Guy, has a fantastic cookbook out called Just a Bunch of Recipes. I picked mine up from the library, but can already tell, this will need to be a purchase for me; this will definitely be added to my massive cookbook collection. It’s comprised of great recipes, everyday recipes, with a healthy twist. His recipes are nutritious and healthy, but not painfully so. Not to mention, Sam is a riot to watch or read. It’s a fun book. Thumbs up!
