It’s mid February and your skin hasn’t seen the sun in months.  In fact, your skin probably hasn’t seen the light of day since August  if you live in an area that experiences seasonal changes.  Pretty skin is still under all those layers of clothing and dry skin, you just need to know how to perfect gorgeous skin year-round.  The major culprit of ugly winter skin is lack of moisture.  One of the easiest ways to add moisture to your skin in seconds is by applying a great body oil to your skin directly after your shower.  If you are a bath-person, simply add the oil to your bath water.  It’s quicker than applying lotion to every square inch of your skin, and it instantly gives your skin a moisturized, sexy look.   It also makes your shower smell like a spa!  The benefits of aromatherapy are monumental.  How do you keep your skin looking sensational in the winter months?  It’s a question I get all the time.  This is it…this is the secret.  Simply smooth your favorite body oil (mine’s Beach and Grapefruit) all over your skin directly out of the shower or bath, then pat dry with a towel.  Of note, use a product that doesn’t leave your skin dripping in oil; rather, use a great skin-absorbing oil.  Higher quality oils will be absorbed by the skin better and more quickly than a mineral oil, for instance, will.  And it’s nice to know that you are sporting sexy skin under those layers!

Wintertime doesn’t mean you have to put up with skin that’s not sexy.  Bring sexy back with one easy step…moisture.  Your skin needs extra moisturizing during winter months to lock in hydration.  One of the easiest and fastest steps to achieve this is to add a moisturizing body oil to your skin right after your shower.  After your shower, before toweling off and while skin is still wet, apply your moisturizing oil to every inch of your skin.  Your skin will not only drink up the moisturizing oil, but also the water that’s on your skin.  Lightly towel off, and you’re all set to be sexy.  Not to mention, you’ll smell amazing.  Try Supernatural Botanicals’ top-selling, all-natural line of Moisturizing Oils.

Combating dry skin is a piece of cake,  you just have to know how to do it.  An all natural and inexpensive way to revive your skin is an oatmeal bath.  Use about a half a cup to a cup of plain oatmeal (it can be slow cook or instant…just be sure it’s plain with no added sugars or flavors.)

The key to an oatmeal bath is to grind the oatmeal into a fine powder.  You can do this by putting the oatmeal in a food processor or blender for about a minute.  When the oatmeal powder is added to warm water, it blends throughout the bath water and is superior in coating your skin like a silicone glove.

Oatmeal has long been used to combat dry skin and it works every time.  Try this in your bath tonight for better skin tomorrow.

Crusty Heels?
Posted on March 3rd, 2010 at 11:39 AM by Supernatural Botanicals

Do you have crusty, dry, cracked heels?  You’re not alone.  Cold weather is more than likely the culprit, but luckily, there’s a fix for it.  Slather your feet with an ultra-hydrating lotion or petrolium jelly, then put socks on.  This is especially beneficial before a hard workout.  You’ll notice a difference after the first use.  If you need additional heel healing, continue this process (generously apply lotion or petrolium, then socks), and your feet will be baby soft by weeks’ end.

The winter months can be brutal on the appearance of your hands.  Not only are your nails more frail, but your skin becomes dry and scaly.  You can keep your hands pretty with regular exfoliation.  When your hands need some 911 help, follow these instructions:  At least twice a day, wash your hands with a vegetable-based all-natural sugar scrub.  A vegetable-based sugar scrub does not leave your hands feeling like an oil slick…veggie-based formulas have a perfect consistency of super soft sugar.  The soft sugar will gently exfoliate the top layer of dry skin on the hands, and leaves a protective soft coating on your hands.  Follow with lotion and your hands will look great in a matter of days.

robin-f.jpg   Get your skin bikini-ready.  Taking 1000 mg of Omega 3 Fatty Acids a day can help heel dry skin from the inside out.  Besides being an integral part of the membranes that surround our skin cells, these essential fats are a key component of the lubricating layer that keeps skin supple.
