Dispose of electronics properly.  Green tips to keep in mind:

  • Keep your cell phones, computers, and other electronics as long as possible.
  • Donate or recycle them responsibly when the time comes. E-waste contains mercury and other toxins and is a growing environmental problem.
  • Recycle your cell phone.

What I’m loving right now….Supernatural Botanicals Pure Orange Bath and Shower Sea Salts.  Formulated with European Spa Salts, Orange Peel, and Orange Essential Oil, this ultra-indulgent sea salt exfoliates skin and makes it radiate.  To keep tops of hands from looking parched and dry, use a handful of salts while washing hands to gently exfolate skin on the hands.

Click here to view the entire skincare line at Supernatural Botanicals.

Supernatural Botanicals Pure Orange Bath and Shower Sea Salts are made from European spa salt, harvested from the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. The European spa salt is evaporated to a sparkling white by the sun and ocean air.  Bursting with fresh orange aroma. Formulated with Pure Orange Essential Oils and Orange Peel.  Citrus aromatherapy stimulates the mind and reinvigorates the mood.

For use in the shower:  Combine Sea Salts with body oil or shower gel, and buff skin in a circular motion.   For use in the bath:  Pour about a half cup of Sea Salts under running bath water.

Bamboo is all the rage in eco-chic accessorizing in interior design.  Cluster Bamboo in antique vases or jugs to create a natural “wall” in an open space.  Indoor plants and trees not only create organic focal points, but also cleans the air inside your home.

In the background, a basket of organic green apples make a colorful, eco-friendly, and organic centerpiece.

Design trends are all about eco-chic right now.   Rethink your design.  Get creative!

Create a secret garden in your own yard.  Pergola arches are sold at home improvement stores, and berries patches or vines will grow abundantly all over them with relatively little upkeep.  Totally eco-chic!  Secret gardens are the new hot tubs.   This is a fairly easy weekend project that will give you years of zen pleasure.  I instantly think of English tea cups and garden parties when I think of secret gardens….and outdoor weddings!    Gorgeousness!

I had a great time with the girls over at Cincy Chic.  They featured Supernatural Botanicals in their “Go Green” issue.

Cincy Chic is the only online lifestyle publication for women in the Greater Cincinnati area.  Each week, this dynamic e-zine publishes a feature story, a fitness Q&A column, a movie column, a “Chic Spotlight” which highlights a newsworthy local woman and five editorial departments in the following topics: health, beauty, fashion, social and career.

This online-only publication was recently honored with the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s “Best New Product or Service” 2007 Women’s Business Award. In addition, Cincy Chic’s editor and publisher, Amy Storer-Scalia earned a national Web-writing award from ASHPE in 2007 and a national feature writing award from ASBPE in 2006.

Many thanks to Amy Storer-Scalia and Linda Palacios of Cincy Chic and Neysa Ruhl from Neysa Ruhl Photography for making me feel right at home.
