Kick The Blues With Peppermint
Peppermint has been found to be an incredible multitasker. One of his many uses is a stress reliever. Like most other essential oils, the aroma of peppermint is able to provide relief from stress, depression and mental exhaustion due to its refreshing nature. It is also effective against anxiety and restlessness. Peppermint essential oil is available at natural food stores and most vitamin/fitness stores.

Make your own all-purpose eco household cleanser. Combine equal parts of white vinegar and water, and add a couple drops of an essential oil (lemon and lavender are exceptional) to scent the mixture. As effective as supermarket brand cleansers, and eco-friendly! We love that!

Bath Temperatures
A morning bath can make you feel revitalized. Use a stimulating essential oil such as rosemary or grapefruit.
Don’t stay in the tub too long, as an ultra-long bath strains your circulation and hot water dissolves your skin’s natural lipids. There is a definite correlation between bath temperatures, duration of soak and the mood your bath leaves you in.
REFRESHING
77 degrees F to 86 degrees F – Duration 10 minutes
RELAXING
98 degrees F to 102 degrees F – Duration 15-20 minutes
THERAPEUTIC
102 degrees F to 104 degrees F – Duration 10-30 minutes. To treat a cold or induce sweating.

What I’m Loving Now
I’m always so thankful to get your emails! It puts a huge smile on my face everyday to know you are loving Supernatural Botanicals.
I get emails on a daily basis asking me “what’s the best thing to try?” When I say that I adore everything we make, it’s the truth. Then again, I would…I formulated everything. Still, some remain my favorite amongst all the great things we offer.
I absolutely adore body sprays. I’ve always felt perfumes were too strong and invasive. I have always loved body sprays for their tendency to be lighter and kinder to your senses. You can spray body sprays direclty onto your face for instant refreshing. You can spray body spray in your hair to give you that “just washed” feeling. I always use body sprays on my skin right out of the shower. I have body sprays everywhere…in my car, in my purse, on my desk, in every bathroom in my house, etc.
Take a break from perfumes and give body sprays a try. My favorites (at the moment) are Grapefruit and Beach. At this point, I believe they are my signature scents (always subject to change!) Living life in a constant aroma-therapeutic bliss makes for a beautiful life!

Psychology is Connected to ScentHow is psychology connected to your sense of smell? It’s the first sense that is activated when we are born. Smell is provocative and deeply connected to our emotional state. People who lose their sense of smell can even lose their will to live. Your olfactory system can take your mind to places and situations in the past, recalling events that you’ve tucked away in your psyche. Take a few minutes each day to stimulate your olfactory system by breathing in wonderful scents, such as citrus (to enliven your mood) or lavender (to evoke a calm mind.)

Natural Cures For DepressionGrapefruit Essential Oils have many therapeutic benefits, one of which is its antidepression properties. Grapefruit essential oil contains chemical compounds which help to stimulate the production of hormones in the brain, including adrenaline and serotonin, thereby decreasing the symptoms of emotional and physical stress and depression.
Before calling the doctor, try to alleviate your ailments naturally. If you are feeling blue, try breathing the fresh scent of Grapefruit Essential Oils to brighten your spirits and stimulate your mind.

Wash Your FaceAre you falling in bed each night completely exhausted? Too exhausted to wash your face before bed? Sleeping in makeup is considered a Cardinal sin in skincare maintenance. It blocks your pores, essentially smothering your skin. It causes the appearance of your skin to look dull and older than it needs to look.
The added benefit, for me, is the aromatherapy aspect I get from washing my face with Spa Soaps. Spa Soaps are our best sellers at Supernatural Botanicals….and for good reason. They smell amazing and give immediate aromatherapetic benefits. For instance, Grapefruit and Orange essential oils are thought to stimulate the mind and enliven the spirit. I love washing my face with this. It’s instantly refreshing.
I also love the fact that I can wash my face with a bar soap and not have to worry about breakouts. In our clinical study, none of our participants experienced any breakouts whatsoever, and in fact, all noted improved complexion.
Explore our entire line of Spa Soaps at Supernatural Botanicals. They are so indulgent and delicious!

5 Things: Aromatherapy! What exactly is aromatherapy? Aromatherapy is the practice of using volatile plant oils, including essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being. Essential oils, the pure essence of a plant, have been found to provide both psychological and physical benefits when used correctly and safely, from mood elevating to healing.
Lavender: Lavender is used for stress or sleep. The aroma of lavender has been known to calm and relax the mind. Lavender has additionally been used for: Acne, allergies, anxiety, asthma, athlete’s foot, bruises, burns, chicken pox, colic, cuts, cystitis, depression, headeache, earache, oily skin, and vertigo.
Grapefruit: Grapefruit is thought to sharpen mental acuity, stimulate thought, and create a cheerful balance. Grapefruit essential oil is also very beneficial to oily skin, improves complexion, and helps with cellulitis and water retention. Not to mention, it smells delicious!
Orange: Similar to Grapefruit’s benefits, orange essential oil stimulates the mind, evokes a cheerful mood and happiness, and smells amazing. Orange essential oils are also thought to aid in digestion and clear oily skin.
Ylang Ylang has a beautiful sweet, slightly fruity fragrance. It has also been used to treat anxiety, depression, frigidity, hypertension, palpatations, and stress.
Rose essential oil immediately takes you to that place of calm. Beautiful floral scent. Rose oil has been used therapeutically to treat depression, eczema, stress, frigidity, and menopause symptoms.
Put some thought behind the scents you choose. They do much more than make you smell amazing. They create balance, and submurge you in a zen-like state.

Cranberry Sugar Scrub
Kick up the exfoliation with a fantastic cranberry scrub. You can use either a fine sugar granule, which is less abrasive to the skin, or use a large granule sugar, such as Sugar In The Raw, for an intense scrub. I tend to like the smaller granules personally. It’s softer to the skin, while standing up on the efficacy scale as well.
1 cup fresh cranberries
1 1/2 cups organic sugar
1/2 cup sweet almond oil
1 scraped and finely chopped vanilla bean
15 drops jasmine essential oil
5 drops rose essential oil
Crush cranberries in food processor until fine; add sweet almond oil, vanilla infusion and pour into large bowl and add sugar, mix well and put into jars. Put into an air tight container and use while showering. Perfect for gift giving!

Supernatural Botanicals Body Butter I am so impressed with this body butter! (http://supernaturalbotanicals.com/productspage.html) My current obsession…Island Coconut. Yesterday it was Pure Grapefruit. It changes daily. I love being able to pick from all four…actually, all nine. Five of our new body butters are in clinical studies as we speak. This body butter formula has been crafted to perfection. When this body butter was in it’s inception stages, we put it to test in a clinical study of 30 women, (and some husbands, too), to rave reviews.
Our new butters will include: Hand Butter, Foot Butter, Baby Butter, Belly Butter (for pregnant bellies), and a Massage Butter. All butters are completely natural, never tested on animals. Supernatural Botanicals products are planet friendly and green.
Look for our new butters in the near future. You absolutely feel like you wake up with new skin. It’s truly the best body butter I’ve ever used on my skin. The consistency is perfection. The essential oils are amazing to the olfactory system. Deeply moisturizes with a non-greasy formula. It’s perfect! Check back soon to see the new Body Butters by Supernatural Botanicals www.SupernaturalBotanicals.com.
