What steps will you take to make next year the best ever?  Don’t know where to start?  Contemplate this progression of actions as depicted by A Mindful-Based Stress Reduction Workbook:

  1. Intention shapes our thoughts and words.
  2. Thoughts and words mold our actions.
  3. Thoughts, words, and actions shape our behaviors.
  4. Behaviors sculpt our bodily expressions.
  5. Bodily expressions fashion our character.
  6. Our character hardens into what we look like.

Start your day with a glass of warm lemon water; on an empty stomach, it aids your body in releasing toxins.

New year, new goals.  A great vision board is so inspirational to keep your goals on track.  And the perfect place for your vision board is to set it as your background on your computer screen.  You’ll see it every day, many times a day.  Most of us have some sort of software art program that we can piece together images and words to create a vision board that clearly depicts your goals for the new year. (Then save it as your background screen by right clicking on the picture and press “save as background.”)   Or even create a vision board screen saver.  Think about what you want for the next year of your life.  Capture it in pictures and words.  Studies have shown that goal-seekers that write their goals down and see it on a regular basis are far more likely to achieve their goals than those who don’t create written goals or vision boards.

Quote:  “I used to focus only on what was going wrong, like the fact that I was still working at the same dead-end job and could barely pay my bills.  But in the past couple of years, I’ve shifted my energies to creating the life I want.  I wrote a business plan, found some investors, and was able to start my own record label.  Now if something doesn’t go well, I come up with ways I can solve the problem.”   …..Lunden De’Leon, Founder and CEO of Dirrty Records, Los Angeles, on success.

rsz_diane_keaton.jpg On May 19, 2009, I’ve been extended the wonderful opportunity by Smart Talk Women’s series to meet the fabulous Diane Keaton in Cincinnati.  I’ll be asking Diane some questions….make sure and send me what you want to know, straight from DK herself!

To hear what people are saying about the Smart Talk Connected Conversations and to purchase tickets for the event, click here.

Diane is such an icon!  I relate to so many of her characters…especially JC in Baby Boom.  The Tiger Lady.  Who didn’t want to be her?  Every ambitious career girl can relate to JC.  Business world takes the Tiger Lady down.  Tiger Lady channels her own brilliance, and ends up turning the business world down in the end.

It was this movie where I developed my love for all things East Coast.  Ever since, I’ve wanted to uproot and move to my own 62 acre Vermont estate.  I still haven’t ruled that out, as a matter of fact.  Moving to Vermont and making organic baby food from the apples I grow would not be that far out of the realm of normal for me, after all.

In the end, JC wanted it all, and she got it all!  That’s why it’s always good to want it all. Break the glass ceiling.  I think that if you stay true to whatever it is you desire, if you want it all. you just might get it.  That’s why it’s good to keep wanting….wanting it all.

Watch JC in action.  She’s my hero!

You know those someday aspirations?  As in…someday, I’m going to accomplish __x__.  Someday, I’m going to have the career I love.  Someday, I’m going to backpack around Europe.  We all have someday aspirations.  One of my small, but significant, ones is having a greenhouse in my yard.  I’ve dreamed about it forever.  To be able to grow herbs, fresh veggies, and flowers in your yard without having to guard them like Fort Knox from the elements and animals is absolutely divine to me. What a sanctuary that would be!  I’d probably move my office in there just for the ultra zen appeal of it all.

Someday, I’m going to have a greenhouse in my yard.  And what a day that will be!

Here are some examples of unique and seriously beautiful greenhouses.
