Vitamins For Skin

“Topical Vitamin C can prevent the consequences of prolonged sun exposure which can lead to skin cancer,” says Karen E. Burke, MD, in a news release. “Supplementation with natural Vitamin E in 400 mg per day has been noted to reduce photodamage, wrinkles and improve skin texture.”

white-towels.jpg Make this a habit!  Hot towels placed on the face and chest are one of the easiest ways to feel ultra relaxed and ultra zen.  This is an easy spa treatment that can be created at home for everyday use.  You can elevate the experience with aromatherapeutic benefits by applying a few drops of essential oil to the towel.  Lavender’s aromatherapy benefits are to calm and relax the mind and body.  A citrus essential oil will produce a cheerful mood and enliven the spirit.

Simply saturate a white hand towel with water.  Wring excess water from the towel.  Place towel in the microwave in 30 second intervals, up to two minutes.  Be sure not to get the towel too hot and burn your skin.  Place several drops of essential oils (optional) directly to hot towel.  The heat will instantly release the essential oil’s therapeutic benefits.  Place hot towels on face, (leave a breathe hold) and upper chest.

Lie down and relax for 10-15 minutes with the towels draping your face and chest.   Feel free to re-microwave your towel(s) if it becomes too cool.

Make deep relaxation with aromatherapy a habit.  It relaxes not only the body, but also the mind.  It’s a perfect way to decompress at the end of the day.  It’s also super beneficial for the skin, opening up pores, allowing the skin to breathe.

This is a great at home spa treatment that can be done every day, and cost you absolutely nothing.  Love that!  Try this today!

clear-skin.jpg   Need to clear a blemish up immediately?  Try crushing an aspirin with enough water to make a paste.  Apply directly to break out, and leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse.  The main ingredient in aspirin is salicylic acid which speeds up healing by encouraging exfoliation.

Eco-Chic? You Bet!

In 2008, the beauty industry transitioned its focus to eco-friendly, all-natural products, but in 2009, the focus is reaching beyond all-natural/eco-friendly products into the realm of all-natural ingredients that are specifically beneficial to the skin.  One of the standouts amongst all-natural skincare ingredients is blueberries.

Beauty Trend Watch says:  Blueberries are chock full of amino acids, vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, and blueberries are another super food that will be used to fight aging in beauty products. Also known as a “super fruit,” blueberries have long been known for its ability to revitalize the skin.  It’s only a matter of time until we see eco-conscious retailers using these ingredients.

We’ve had you covered all along!  Our Mixed Berry Ultra Exfoliating Spa Soap is loaded with blueberry and strawberry seeds, providing your skin with a mini-microdermabrasion to exfoliate lifeless and dull skin, while creating beautiful, soft, sexy skin.  Ultra-conditioning, ultra-beneficial.

Facial Cleansers
Posted on August 1st, 2008 at 12:43 AM by Supernatural Botanicals

web-ready-island-coconut-gift.jpg     Having glowing, gorgeous skin isn’t an impossible task, nor does it take a lot of your time. A simple two minute skin care regimen each night can keep your skin conditioned, beautiful, and healthy.

Start with a great, gentle cleanser, whether it be a liquid or bar soap facial cleanser. Follow cleansing with a toner, and then a great moistuizer. You can also use speciality treatments, i.e, eye serums, line filling treatments, etc., to boost your moisturizer. To slough off dead, lifeless skin on the face and neck, use a loofah pad….but be sure it is formulated for the face. You’ll need an ultra-gentle exfoliating pad or sponge for delicate facial skin. These are inexpensive and can be purchased at your local drug and/or grocery stores.

Be sure to pay attention to the scent of your facial cleanser. After all, a cleanser can work wonders, but if you detest the smell, you aren’t going to use it religiously; same with your moisturizer. Also be sure to wash your face every night before bed. Never, ever, go to bed with your makeup on. Your skin is constantly working to generate new cells, and it does most of its work when you are sleeping. By constantly combating your skin’s natural restorative cycle by clogging it with makeup and dirt and debris of the day, you are making your skin work harder.

The next time you are tempted to sleep with your makeup on, remember that your skin pays the toll. Take two minutes (or less) to earn beauty points in the morning. We are loving face and body cleansing bars. It’s so convenient to wash your face and body in the shower with the same soap and not worry about breakouts on your face. And we find cleansing bars, as opposed to liquid cleansers, retain fragrance better, for an ultra aroma therapeutic experience. It’s like a spa in your shower!
