Set your Tivo’s!  Season 4 of Mad Men premieres tonight on AMC.  Behind on a season?  Hit your local library and borrow previous seasons.  You’ll become instantly addicted.  The retro 60s vibe is spot-on, and if nothing else, watch it for Roger Sterling or Don Draper (see below…I’m going with Roger, sorry Don.)

Which do you prefer, the political correctness of today’s workplace, or the workplace of yester-year?  I suppose both have advantages, but they sure look like they had fun.  It would be interesting to experience that sort of work environment…if only for a week.  Do we, as women, have it easier now?  Worse?  Better and worse at the same time?  What do you think?

Mad Men Style

If you are part of the majority, you’ve fallen in love with AMC’s Mad Men.  Mad Men is a show about an advertising agency in Manhattan on Madison Avenue, thus the moniker Mad (Madison Avenue) Men.  The crazy vintage style makes you swoon!  It was a time where women were extremely sheltered, yet they smoked cigarettes and drank scotch from rocks glasses all day long….while pregnant.   Boozing and smoking are also commonplace in the work environment.  The blatant sexual harassment and gross neglect to identify women as equals to men is surreal.  It’s ironic to look at that era of time.  It was a time when politically correct or dysfunctional never crossed their minds.  The retro decor and fashions are delicious, with the main character, Don Draper, always in an impeccable suit.  Joan Holloway is the resident sex-kitten with pin-up girl looks and curves.  This is definitely one to Tivo!
