ManscapingLet’s talk about men. Manscaping, specifically. Men, if you are wondering if women like your manscaping skills….we do! We like you to take care of yourself as much as we ladies take care of ourselves. Nothing is worse than a man who has personal high standards in his preferences for ladies, yet does nothing to bring anything to the party personally. Step it up, men. The days of the double-standard are gone.

Nail Soak
For brighter, whiter nails, soak fingertips in a mixture of gentle soapy water and lemon juice for 15 minutes each hand. This is not recommended if you have very sensitive skin…lemon juice can be acidic, but is a perfect nail brightener for normal skin. Gently scrub with a nail brush after soak, and rinse with warm water for a just from the spa look.

Why wait for tomorrow when you can do this today! Here are five things you can do, today, to make your skin look better tomorrow. As I’ve said a million times, the only way to make something a habit is to do it……and do it…..and do it. That’s how good solid habits are formed. And isn’t looking sensational worth it?
Try these habit-forming ideas today!
Drink as much water as possible! It rids the body and skin of toxins and keeps your skin looking hydrated and healthy.
Make the effort to eat better. Start eating things that make you radiant (think veggies and greens) and less of things that make you unattractive (fast food and double lattes!) Choose from super-foods, like blueberries that contains mega antioxidants.
Start working out! There’s so many benefits to exercise. Make sure to break a sweat at least once a day. Sweating off toxins, as nasty as it sounds, is a very, very good thing for your skin. Hit the steam room or sauna as much as possible.
Make sure you are washing your face once or twice a day (definitely before bed) to remove makeup and the day’s grime, helping to prevent breakouts. It gives your skin a chance to breathe while your body is in a restorative state (sleep.) Plus, it saves your expensive pillow cases from getting lipstick on them.
Use a great moisturizer at least once a day. Preferably before applying makeup in the a.m., and after taking makeup off in the evening. It helps to hydrate the skin, preventing dull, dry looking skin.
These are five things you can do today to look hot tomorrow! It’s so worth it!

All About The Softness
Ever seen one of these at the drug store and wonder if they work? I’m here to tell you, they do! This pedicure paddle, essentially a pumice stone on a stick, works great on dry skin on the feet. Just smooth the stick over the bottom of wet feet in the shower to slough off rough skin. Especially good on feet after a grueling workout in gym shoes. Every shower should have one of these. It’s an inexpensive way to keep your feet baby soft.

Lash ExtensionsThere’s a new craze sweeping our nation of pretty faces, eyelash extensions. What is it? Eyelash extensions are applied by professionals, using a surgical glue to attach long, luxurious lashes to your current lashes. The overall look is simply beautiful, but, there is a price to pay, literally and figuratively. But if you are willing to pay the price, you can have the experience that all the celebrities and fashion magazines are talking about!
The pros are long, luscious and beautiful eyelashes without the hassles of applying and reapplying mascara or eyelash strips. Eyelash Extensions provide longer, thicker, luscious and natural looking eyelashes. Eyelash extensions are not your traditional fake eyelash strips, they are semi-permanent individual eyelash extensions. Once applied, Eyelash extensions give you beautiful and natural looking eyelashes all day and all night.
The cons: Touchups are required once every two weeks and cost. An initial application will cost you between $275.00 to $400.00 (depending on your location), and every two week touch-ups will run you between $60.00 to $150.00. Expensive, and they’ll keep you running to the salon twice a month.
They are oh-so-gorgeous, though. Whether they be eyelash extensions or glued on strip lashes, you won’t find a female face in Hollywood without lashes. They turn on the glamour and make your eyes look sexy and kitteny.
If you’ve got the time and the budget, lash extensions will certainly turn up the sexy to your look. And as much as I hate to admit it, having a high maintenance beauty routine will give you incredible results (results being undeniable in the photos above.)
Contact your day spa, salon, or even Google eyelash extensions to find professionals in your area.

The Power Of The Pedi
Don’t you just love a great pedicure? It’s a feeling of self-indulging, the kind you don’t have to feel guilty about. I love getting pedicures. I constantly wear heels, so for me, pedicures are a must. And if you wear sandals or heels, pedicures should be a must for you as well. And even if your toes don’t see the light of day on a regular basis, you should still tend to them….if only out of the spirit of “girl” maintenance. Someone usually sees your feet on a regular basis, and that someone is usually your husband or boyfriend. You might think he’s not paying attention, and you might be right! Maybe he doesn’t notice that you’ve changed your polish color from coral to candy apple red. But what he will notice is toes that look unkempt, paint chipping, and a wife or girlfriend that’s looking like she’s lacking in the maintenance department. ….don’t be that girl!
If you don’t have the time or finances to hit the spa on a regular basis, it’s easy to do at home. I know that most of us don’t have spare time in our day, but most all of us watch at least a half hour of television each day, right? Perfect opportunity to multi-task. Grab your pedicure kit and get started.
Get the look:
1. Remove any old polish existing on toenails.
2. Clip nails with a straight edge clipper. Don’t dig down into the skin on the edges as this causes ingrown toenails.
3. Start with a clear, thin coat of polish on each toenail.
4. Follow the clear coat by a great red polish. Many years ago I heard Madonna say that “Red is the only color that works on toes. I’d never have anything other than red!” I agreed with her then, and agree with her now. Red is so sexy and works with almost anything you are wearing. It can be taken from a formal little black dress to a simple sun dress in the summer. Red just works!
5. Follow with another coat of clear.
That’s all there is to it. Those are the stripped down basics of a pedicure. There are many more ways to indulge, such as a foot soak (try Supernatural Botanicals Bolivian Bath Salts)
Regularly use a pumice stone or pumice board on soles of feet in the shower to keep feet baby soft. Use moisturizer every day. And if you are really lucky, you can have the husband or boyfriend give you a foot massage.
If your feet take a beating after workouts, liberally apply Vaseline to feet followed by your socks during your workout. It’s not as icky feeling as it may sound. You can’t even feel the Vaseline, and your feet are super soft after a tough workout.
Take the time for maintenance. It makes the difference between blah and wow! In honor of this pedicure post, I threw on a pair of my favorite heels and snapped this picture for you (nevermind the marks from the socks I was wearing prior to) …..my point being, you don’t have to have gorgeous feet, necessarily, to get an overall gorgeous look!
