Now that Old Man Winter is rounding third and heading for home, your skin is probably at its height of being dry and itchy.  Not to worry, this is a super-simple fix.

By simply using exfoliating gloves in the shower, you gently exfoliate your dry skin away with each and every shower.   Shower gloves are slightly abrasive, yet gentle enough to not  scratch your skin.

Soap the gloves up with a great soap, either liquid or bar soap, and scrub every square inch of your skin.  Follow up with a fabulous moisturizing lotion or body oil, and your skin will be shorts-ready this Spring.

For the first time in what seems to be an eternity, I have a sunburn.  I never meant for it to happen, but it happened at the Cincinnati Reds Opening Day game I attended on Monday.

You never really realize how blistering hot the sun is until you are sitting under it for three hours…unable to move from your seat.

I now remember why I always avoid the sun, or at least use a sunblock.  Not only did the sun burn my skin, but it also parched my skin.  By Monday evening, I could feel my skin was very dry, and it looked aged by 10 years in just a few hours.

I’ve been using Supernatural Botanicals Grapefruit Body Lotion since Monday, and it’s literally healing my skin with each use.  You can physically see your skin transforming from dry and parched, to soft and moisturized.  In my opinion, and of course I’m a bit biased, it’s truly the best lotion on the market.  It’s better than anything I’ve ever used on my skin.  It truly feels like skin therapy, leaving your skin ultra-soft and smelling amazingly fresh.

Save your skin.  Start here.

Fresh fruit season is upon us.  With warmer weather approaching, you’ll notice the strawberries look healthier and vibrant red, the bananas are sunny yellow and ripe, and oranges are juicy and bright orange.   Not only is it peak season for eating fresh fruits, but also for making skincare recipes with them.  Fruits have been extensively used in skincare applications since the beginning of time.

The next time your fruit basket is full, do double-beauty-duty by eating fruits to nourish the inside, and using fruits in skincare recipes to nourish the outside.

By making your own facial masks with fresh fruit, you’ll assure no preservatives or chemicals are are going onto and into your skin.

Try this Banana Honey Facial Mask.  Bananas are high in vitamins C, A, B6, and B12 in addition to magnesium and potassium.  The fruit acids in bananas help to slough off dead skin cells, leaving your skin looking healthy and refreshed.

RECIPE:

1 Banana,  2 tablespoons of honey

Mash banana with honey into a paste, and apply to to clean skin.  Leave on skin 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.  The banana/honey mixture leaves a firming, yet moisturized feeling to the skin…..that’s totally delicious!

Use Protection
Posted on December 18th, 2008 at 8:41 AM by Supernatural Botanicals

winter-girl.jpg   Now that temperatures are bitter cold for most parts of the country, we have to switch our focus into protection; protect your skin, your nails, and your hair.

web-ready-body-butter-label-sarong-1.jpg   Protect your skin:  Lacking the sun’s exposure and the light of day for the most part, your skin needs some extra attention in the colder months.  A good multivitamin is a great way to get your vitamin D, essential for healthy skin.  If you don’t have at least 20 minutes of sun exposure on your skin each day, you need to be taking a multivitamin that contains the highest amount of vitamin D you can find.  Moisturizing is also key.  Keep lotion or a body butter on you at all times.  Keep some at work.  Keep some in the car.   Keep some on your night stand.  Moisturize as often as you can to avoid overtly dry, flaking skin.  Drinking lots of water will keep your skin looking healthy as well.   H2O puffs the skin back out and makes wrinkles less noticeable.

hand-butter-picture-black.jpg   Protect your nails:  Winter nails can look dirty and unkempt unless you are putting some time into them.   The easiest and prettiest way to protect nails is to put polish on them.  Polish protects the nails from the elements and keeps them from turning brittle.  Even if you aren’t a fan of nail polish, you need to at least throw a clear coat on your nails to protect them.  A great cuticle oil applied regularly will keep hang nails at bay.  Keep in mind that nothing ruins a look faster than brittle nails that lack attention in the upkeep department.

beautiful-hair.jpg   Protect your hair:  Hair, too, can really ruin your day if you’re not taking proper measures to take care of it.  Don’t wash your hair everyday.  Exposure to too many elements, such as chemicals in your shampoo or even exposure to hard water combined with the cold air can leave your hair frizzy, brittle, and unattractive.  If possible, get your ends trimmed every other month.  Also go for the extra conditioning with a deep conditioner or a hot oil treatment.

Take the time to protect your skin, nails, and hair or they’ll turn on you.  Stay pretty and make the effort to protect.

Exfoliating Gloves
Posted on November 9th, 2008 at 10:02 PM by Supernatural Botanicals

exfoliating-gloves.jpg   Skin feeling November-y?  November skin definitely needs different attention than July skin.  One of my very favorite routes of exfoliation is exfoliating gloves.  The gloves allow you to wrap your hands around your legs and smooth over knees more easily than a loofah sponge.  The texture of the gloves are slightly abrasive, but still soft enough to be kind to the skin, soft enough for use on the face.

web-ready-mixed-berry-update-july-6.jpg   Combine the experience with a Mixed Berry Ultra Exfoliating Spa Soap for ridiculous indulgence!  Your skin is thirsty right now…quench it!

robin-feltner-supernatural-botanicals-pink-grapefuit-spa-soap.jpg   As many of you know, largely do to my incessant talk about them, Supernatural Botanicals is undergoing artistic construction and development of new products.  All of our products undergo clinical studies by many different women, all with different skin types, and we perfect our formularies accordingly.   This soap that I’m holding is Pure Grapefruit Spa Soap.   It’s almost 7 ounces of thick, hand-cut soap and smells absolutely amazing.  These new formularies give you a true aromatherapeutic experience.   In fact, I have sat the Spa Bar down on my desk while I’m typing this and the entire room smells of fresh citrus scent.  Makes you just want to take a bite out of it!

Our clinical study group is raving about these new, all natural Face and Body Spa Bars.  In our study of 30 women (and several husbands), Supernatural Botanicals Face and Body Spa Bars received five stars across the board.   They are super beneficial to promoting healthy skin on the face and body.  We anticipate our new products to go online next week.   Please stop by next week for your chance to win free products from Supernatural Botanicals.

As always, we not only salute you in your quest for gorgeousness, we help you get there!

xoxo, Robin
