Try this trick the next time you give yourself a French manicure.  To get the curved white tip, simply wrap a rubberband around your finger, which pulls the skin taut, and allows for the perfect curve to paint your white strip.  Simple, easy, pretty.

We like to keep the atmosphere “inspirational” in our studio, and there’s no better way of doing that than to paint the walls…or at least a one focal wall of color.  Which color do you feel you’d be your most creative in?  Green, yellow, or orange?

Eco-Friendly Floors
Posted on October 14th, 2010 at 2:58 PM by Supernatural Botanicals

Painted floors are an eco-friendly way to freshen up old wood floors without replacing them. Make sure to use an eco low VOC paint, readily available at Home Depot…and places like that.

Go VOC-Free
Posted on May 15th, 2009 at 2:57 PM by Supernatural Botanicals

painting-couple.jpg   Indoor air is three times more polluted than outdoor air, and according to the EPA, is considered one of the top five hazards to human health.  Paints and finishes are thought to be among the leading causes.

Paints and finishes release low level toxic emissions into the air for years after application.  The source of these toxic emissions are from volatile organic compunds (VOCs).

VOCs have been known to cause mouth and nose irritation, headaches, loss of concentration, nausea, and damage to liver, kidneys and central nervous system.  Even cancers.

Luckily, paint makers have rose to the challenge and are now producing paints that are VOC-free.  The next tine your purchase paint, make sure you are purchasing VOC-free paints for the health of your family.

earth-911.jpg   Where do I recycle compact fluorescent bulbs?  Home Depot!  Good to know.  Since I’ve never had one of my compact fluorescent bulbs burn out before, I was unsure how to recycle it when it finally happened.  A simple search on Earth 911  gave me all the answers I wanted on where to recycle things such as paint, engine oil, batteries, cell phones, and, alas, compact fluorescent light bulbs, etc.  This is a great reference for proper recycling.  Just plug in what you want to recycle and your zip code, and get all the information you’ll need to do the right thing.
