Just because you can’t pronounce an ingredient that is included in your lotions doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad thing. Case in point …Butyrospermum Parkii. Sounds scary, doesn’t it? It’s the formal name for Shea Butter, an ingredient extremely beneficial for your skin. How about Tocopherol? Sound like a chemical? It’s not, it’s Vitamin E. Ascorbic Acid, that certainly can’t be good for your skin. Wrong again. Ascorbic Acid is Vitamin C.
So just because you can’t pronounce an ingredient on a label doesn’t mean it’s not good for you. Educate yourself (of which you doing are by reading this!) and become familiar with ingredients and their formal names. Since your skin absorbs up to 94% of what’s put on it (and processes through your body, into your liver), you should know what what you are putting on it.
Conversely, if you see the word Paraben on a label …walk away. Parabens = Bad. For more on Parabens and other toxins, visit out website.
